Ahly playmaker Magdi Afsha has received a loan offer from a Turkish club that still falls short of the Cairo giants' financial demands, his agent revealed on Saturday.

The agent declined to say which club are interested, but local reports said Sivasspor are the ones who tabled an offer for Afsha.

"The offer came from one of the Turkish clubs that is taking part in the Europa League," Abdel-Rahman Ismail, the agent, told OnTime Sports television channel.

"Ahly rejected the offer but we are still in discussions … Afsha's move to this Turkish club will benefit him and Ahly."

Afsha has been one of Ahly's key players since joining from the big-spending Pyramids FC in the summer of 2019.

He scored 29 goals and provided 30 assists in 138 appearances with the Red Devils in all competitions.

Ahly's supporters regard him highly because of his memorable late strike that earned the team a 2-1 win over perennial rivals Zamalek in a remarkable African Champions League final in November 2020.

However, the 26-year-old has been criticised this season for a series of uninspiring displays, even though he scored 10 goals and created five others in all competitions this term.
