Zamalek have solved striker Razak Omotoyossi’s salary dispute and the player will return to Cairo within hours, the club said Wednesday.

“The club paid the player’s unpaid wages and asked him to return to training after his surprising departure this week,” White Knight's board member Hamada Anwar told Ahram Online Wednesday.

The 26-year-old from Benin flew to Nigeria this week and insisted he would cancel his contract with Zamalek after they had failed to pay him for two months.

Zamalek board members Anwar and Amr El-Ganainy met the player’s agent Tuesday and promised to pay him what he was owed.

Striker Amr Zaki threatened to leave the club earlier this year in protest at unpaid wages as Zamalek continue to struggle with a mounting financial crisis after the suspension of domestic competitions on 1 February when more than 70 Ahly fans were killed at a match in Port Said.
