“Thanks to the board for their trust in me during the past 14 years in which I achieved 12 titles with the team. I wanted to achieve more and you deserve more than that,” read Emam’s post on Instagram.
Local reports revealed earlier that Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira will not to include the 34-year full back in his plan for the upcoming season and though there was no need to offer him a new deal.
Emam came through Zamalek's youth ranks to join the first team in 2008.
He spent all his career at the club except of a brief loan spell at Ittihad of Alexandria in the 2016/17 season.
The pacy and tricky wing-back has lost his place as a regular starter recently due to repetitive injuries and a dip in form.
Emam, a free agent now, is yet to decide on his next move.
