“I will do my best with Zamalek to achieve victory in all games as well as to win all titles, as this success will help me to book a regular place on Morocco’s national team squad as well as play in Europe,” El-Wardi said.
During an interview with Al-Ahram sports magazine, the 24-year-old Moroccan midfielder revealed his hopes of playing in the Spain La Liga.
“My target is to join Real Madrid or Barcelona as it was my dream since I was a young player,” the Moroccan star added.
El-Wardi made his first appearance in Zamalek’s jersey during the team’s loss to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in the Lusail Super Cup in Qatar early this month.
He joined Zamalek from Moroccan club Raja Casablanca where he spent the last three seasons, scoring twice in 112 appearances in all competitions.
“I only played few minutes during the game as I was not physically ready for the game since my last game with Raja was three months ago,” El-Wardi said.
El-Wardi’s prominent achievements with Raja were winning the African Super Cup in 2019, Moroccan league title in 2020 and the African Confederation Cup title in 2021.
“I promise Zamalek’s fans to fight in every game as well as winning all trophies so I need their support in the coming period,” the Moroccan star said.
