Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Yousif has revealed that team defender Mahmoud Fathallah twisted his knee but will be available for the game against Ahly in the CAF Champions League group stage on 22 July.

"Fathallah's injury won't sideline him from the game against Ahly next week," Yousif was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

The 30-year-old defender twisted his knee in the 1-1 friendly draw with Maqassa Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Whites' striker Amr Zaki has ruled out reports that he demanded to leave the club during a meeting with the team's management before Saturday's friendly against Maqassa.

"Zaki held a meeting with management before the Maqassa friendly and ruled out reports that linked him with a move to another club," Yousif said.

"Zaki confirmed that he isn't thinking about leaving the team, especially during this critical time as Zamalek will face Ahly this month," he added.

In other news, Abdullah George, a member of the Cairo giants' management team, announced that Zamalek had decided to offload midfielder Ahmed Ghanem Soltan whose contract expires this season. George said Soltan can sign for any team in January for free.
