“Percy Tau participated in the team’s full training sessions on Sunday after completing his rehab program to recover from injury that forced him to be on the sidelines in the previous period,” read a statement on the club’s official website on Sunday.

The future of the 28-year-old, who joined Ahly on a four-year contract from English Premier League side Brighton in summer 2021, was uncertain because of his successive injuries.

Since joining Ahly, Tau pulled off a perfect start, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances on all fronts and receiving much admiration from the team’s fans thanks to his superb performance.

His last appearance with the team came in a league game against Masry on 10 August before he was injured again.

The new season of the Egyptian Premier League will start on 18 October and finish on 30 June 2023, according to EPL President Ahmed Diab.
