The Benin frontman was due to return to Cairo on 14 November following the end of an international break but failed to show up.

He told Zamalek's football director that passport issues had delayed his return but his absence prompted speculation over his future, with some reports suggesting that he might be considering leaving the club he joined in the summer.

The club said they would impose a heavy fine on Akinyoola, who joined from Venezuelan team Caracas FC last summer.

The 22-year-old has made two substitute appearances with Zamalek so far this season, scoring once.

Zamalek will face Masry in the Egypt Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
