“Taher underwent medical scans on Monday that showed he is suffering from a collateral ligament injury,” Ahly’s doctor Ahmed Abou Abla was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“The player missed the team’s training sessions as he will undergo a rehab programme to recover from the injury,” the Ahly doctor added.

The 25-year-old winger sustained the injury during the 2-1 win over Talae El-Gaish in the fifth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Friday.

Ahly are schedule to face Ghazl El-Mahalla in the sixth matchday of the league on Wednesday.

The Red Devils are in the driving seat of the league table with 12 points, two points over runners-up Ghazl El-Mahalla.
