The Red Devils’ league winning streak was halted on Friday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Future FC side in Cairo.

They made a perfect start of season, claiming six consecutive wins before Friday’s draw that saw the team squander a last gasp penalty after Mohamed ‘Afsha’ Magdi's shot from the spot hit the crossbar.

The team’s Swiss coach Marcel Koller expressed his displeasure over the game’s result, stressing that the team's performance was very far from desired.

He asked the players to regain their form and to beat Pharco FC on Tuesday to cement their place on the top of the league table.

Ahly are on the driving seat of the league with 19 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Future FC who played one match more.

The Red Devils are lucky to be facing Pharco FC without their defensive-minded coach Nuno Almeida who was shown the door on Saturday.

The Portuguese coach was known for his defensive tactics that posed many problems to all opponents, especially to the league's heavyweights.

He held Ahly and Zamalek to two goalless draws last season before losing to Zamalek who claimed a narrow 1-0 win in the return game.

Pharco FC named former Pharaohs coach Ehab Galal as the team’s new coach. He will be in charge of the team during his game against Ahly.

Galal’s strategy is totally different from his predecessor: the former Pharaohs coach is known for his offensive strategy, which tends to make things easier for opponents.

In the seven games they played so far in the league, Pharco won once, earned four draws and lost twice.
