With participation of seven teams from different continents, Morocco will host the prestigious tournament in Rabat and Tangier.
The draw of the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 took place in Morocco on Friday, with the seven clubs finding out their paths to the world title.
It is the last edition to be played with the current format, making way for a new expanded version in June 2025.
The Red Devils, Ahly, were granted a spot in the competition despite finishing as runners-up in the African Champions League last season, taking advantage of the selection of Morocco as the host country.
The Club World Cup regulations do not allow more than one club from the host country to participate in the annual tournament. Casablanca-based side Wydad will already take part as the reigning African champions.
It is the third straight appearance for Ahly in the seven-team tournament as they finished third in their previous two participations after winning back-to-back Champions League titles.
The Cairo giants hold the record for most FIFA Club World Cup matches played, with a total of 18 across their previous seven appearances.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, winners of the 2021 AFC Champions League, will be the first AFC representatives to feature in three editions of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Seattle Sounders of USA, winners of the 2022 Concacaf Champions League and the first club from the USA to participate in the tournament.
Flamengo of Brazil, winners of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2022, qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup after finishing runners-up to Liverpool at the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019.
Auckland City, winners of the OFC Champions League 2022 for a record tenth time in 2022, have more FIFA Club World Cup appearances than any other club.
Real Madrid of Spain, winners of the UEFA Champions League 2021/22, is the most successful club in the history of the FIFA Club World Cup, having won four titles.
