“El-Sulaya is continuing his rehabilitation program from his calf injury and won’t be available for Al-Hilal game,” Ahly’s doctor Ahmed Abu-Abla was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

The Reds will be facing Al-Hilal in the second round of the continental tournament group stage. Al-Hilal game will be opening match for the Cairo giants as the first round’s game against Cameroon's Coton Sport was postponed due to Ahly’s recent participation in the Club World Cup.

The 33-year old El-Sulaya has already missed the team’s loss to Brazil’s Flamengo in the Club World Cup bronze medal clash on Saturday due to the same injury.

Ahly’s doctor also said that goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir is ready for Al-Hilal game after rejoining the trainings as he totally recovered from his knee injury.

Ahly, who finished as runner-up in last year's edition, is competing in the prestigious tournament this time in Group B alongside Al-Hilal, Coton Sport and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
