The 28-year-old player missed Ahly’s trip to Morocco in the FIFA Club World Cup last week.
Ahly flew to Sudan to open their campaign in the group stage of the CAF Champions League against Al-Hilal in the second round of Group B games scheduled to be played on Saturday.
Ahly’s first round game against Cameroon's Coton Sport was postponed due to Ahly’s recent participation in the Club World Cup.
Savio, who is Ahly's marquee summer signing from Bolivia's Club Bolivar, made 15 appearances with the team since joining last September, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Meanwhile, Ahly’s key midfielder Amr El-Sulaya is also confirmed to miss Saturday’s away game as he continues his rehabilitation program from his calf injury.
The 33-year-old El-Sulaya has already missed the team’s loss to Brazil’s Flamengo in the Club World Cup bronze medal clash on Saturday due to the same injury.
Ahly, who finished as runner-up in last year's edition, is competing in the prestigious tournament this time in Group B alongside Al-Hilal, Coton Sport and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
