The Egyptian Super Cup game will be played between the 2021/22 Premier League champions Zamalek and the winner of the Egypt Cup in the same season.

Ahly were scheduled to face Pyramids FC in the 2021/22 Egypt Cup final on 3 February but the game was postponed due to the Red Devils’ participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, which concluded last week.

The UAE has hosted five editions of the Egyptian Super Cup, including the last one in October 2022 when Ahly defeated Zamalek 2-0 and snatched the title.

Ahly are the most frequent winners of the Egyptian Super Cup trophy with 12 titles, while arch-rivals Zamalek have claimed only four titles alongside Arab Contractors, Harras El-Hodoud and Talae El-Geish with one title each.
