Zamalek president, Mortada Mansour.
“The club manager and the financial director are on their way to the EFA to pay outstanding dues and re-schedule the rest of the debt,” Mansour said on his official Facebook page on Thursday.
The EFA has not officially confirmed Mansour’s announcement.
Earlier this month, the EFA blocked Zamalek from registering new players in the winter transfer window, which closes by the end of January, over unpaid dues, referring the matter to FIFA for a ruling.
Earlier today, FIFA responded to the EFA request by declining to rule on the issue on the grounds that it was "a purely domestic matter."
During the winter transfer window, Zamalek signed two new players; Aswan Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Belhadji on loan, and NBE striker Nasser Mansi.
They also restored the services of their centre-back Mahmoud Shabana after ending his loan spell at Smouha.
The defending champions are in fourth place on the league table with 32 points, five points behind leaders Ahly, who played three matches less due to commitments in the recently concluded Club World Cup in Morocco.
