Egypt s Future Vs Pyramids FC. Al-Ahram
The Egyptian duo are in points calculation as they failed to win a game in the previous two rounds of the group stage, so they have no choice except winning to keep their hopes of reaching the quarterfinals alive.
Pyramids FC are expected to make use of the home advantage when they host minor ASKO de Kara at Cairo’s Air Defence Stadium.
Future FC will face a tough test when they visit Group C’s leaders FAR Rabat at Complexe Sportif Moulay Abdallah in Morocco.
Both teams started their mission in the group stage with draws, as Pyramids FC held to a 2-2 draw with FAR Rabat of Morocco at the Air Defence Stadium two weeks ago, seven days before drawing again 1-1 with Future FC.
Future FC also started their mission in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage with a 1-1 away draw at ASKO de Kara of Togo.
Pyramids FC are sharing the same two points in the second and third places in Group C ranking respectively, two points behind leaders FAR Rabat, while ASKO de Kara of Togo placed at the bottom with only one point.
Future FC, the newly promoted team to the secondary continental tournament, suffered more injuries during the last game against Pyramids FC, and they are expected to miss the services of talented forward Ghannam Mohamed and winger Nasser Maher.
“We suffered more injuries, and we are expected to miss Ghannam and Maher against FAR Rabat on Sunday due to injuries,” Future FC assistant coach Mohamed Abdel-Karim said after the 1-1 draw with Pyramids.
“We suffer from a busy schedule, as it is our first appearance in the continental tournament, but we have to concentrate on the game against brilliant team FAR Rabat in the third round,” he added.
Last November, Egyptian representatives in Africa's secondary club competition Pyramids FC and Future FC secured their place in the competition’s Group stage after defeating Nigelec and Primeiro de Agosto respectively.
