Egyptian Premier League leaders, Ahly, will be eager to return to their winning form as they face Arab Contractors on Tuesday, following their frustrating 1-1 draw against 10-man Dakhleya.

The Red Devils are determined to extend their lead at the top of the table and inch closer to the league title, which they lost to their archrivals, Zamalek, in the past two seasons.

They hope to open a five-point gap so they can shift their focus to their struggling Champions League campaign.

With 41 points, Ahly leads the table by two points ahead of Pyramids FC and Future FC, both of whom have played three games more.

Marcel Koller's team faces a challenging task against Arab Contractors, who are currently displaying one of their best performances in recent years.

Led by former Egypt coach Shawky Gharib, the Mountain's Wolves are sixth in the league standings with 32 points, only two points adrift of the top four.

In light of their upcoming crunch game against Sundowns on Saturday, Koller may opt for a rotation policy to rest some of his key players.

The team is still plagued with injuries to influential midfielder Amr El Sulaya, in-form winger Hussein El Shahat, and tricky forward Ahmed Abdel-Kader. However, they could welcome back Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim for this crucial game.
