Zamalek caretaker coach Ismail Youssef has decided late Monday to include Benin striker Razak Omotoyossi in the club's 20-man squad that will travel to DR Congo to play the anticipated CAF Champions League clash against TP Mazembe.
Omotoyossi has just returned for the Cairo giants training sessions after boycotting it for more than a month amid rumors that he cancelled his contract following problems with payments.
"I am ready for TP Mazembe clash and I promised coach Youssef to score a goal," Omotoyossi was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
Earlier on Sunday, Youssef has announced that Veteran striker Amr Zaki won't play the game as he is distracted by the transfer offer by Turkish club Gaziantep.
Defender Mohamed Abdel-Shafy was also omitted from the squad by the head coach after refusing to feature in Sunday's 2-2 draw in a friendly match with Egyptian Premier League Dakhlya.
The White Knights, who were hit by the resignation of manager, Hassan Shehata, are bottom of Group B with no points after two successive defeats against Ghana’s Chelsea and Egyptian archrivals Ahly.
Zamalek's 20-man squad:
Goalkeepers: Abdel Wahed El-Sayed, Mahmoud Abdel-Rehim "Genish"
Defenders: Mahmoud Fathallah, Hani Saied, Hamada Tolba, Salah Soliman, Hazem Imam, Ahmed Samir and Sabry Rahil
Midfielders: Ibrahim Salah, Alexis Mendomo, Nour El-Sayed, Ahmed Tawfik, Islam Awad, Ahmed Hassan, and Said Mohamed “Otta”
Strikers: Ahmed Gaafar, Mohamed Ibrahim, Abdoulaye Cisse and Razak Omotoyossi
