Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim scored a hat-trick in the 24th, 29th, and 51st minutes, securing a comfortable win for the visitors. South African winger Percy Tau added the fourth goal for the Cairo giants two minutes later, completing Coton Sport's rout.

With seven points, Ahly is currently third in Group B standings, trailing group leaders Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, who have ten points, and Al-Hilal of Sudan, who have nine points. Coton Sport remains at the bottom of the group without any points.

Ahly's qualification to the quarterfinals depends on the outcome of Saturday's game between Sundowns and Al-Hilal. Ahly hope that Al-Hilal won't win so that they can improve their chances in the final game at home against the Sudanese team.

Kahraba made up for an early miss when he scored the first goal for Ahly by meeting a low cross from playmaker Mohamed "Afsha" Magdi at the far post. The in-form striker doubled his team's lead in the 29th minute after being set up by Tau in the goalmouth.

Ahly coach was forced to substitute goalkeeper Mohamed El Shennawy with second-choice Ali Lotfi after the former sustained a leg injury only one minute before the break.

Ahly continued their domination in the second half, with Kahraba scoring his third goal in the 51st minute after beating the keeper from inside the area, following another assist by Tau.

The South African winger turned from provider to scorer after drifting inside and tapping the ball into the near post, securing the full points and a spectacle for the Red Devils.
