Ahly are buoyant after securing their place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League earlier this month, thanks to an exciting 3-0 victory over Al-Hilal of Sudan.
On Monday, they clinched their 38th Egypt Cup title with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Pyramids FC.
However, Ahly's primary focus remains on the league as they look to reclaim the title from archrivals Zamalek, who have won the past two editions.
With 47 points, Ahly currently sit second in the league table, one point behind Future FC, who have played four more matches.
A win against eighth-placed Pharco would see Ahly leapfrog Future and move one step closer to their 43rd league title.
However, it won't be an easy task for Ahly, as Pharco have proven to be a resilient side, with an unbeaten streak of nine games.
Moreover, their defensive-minded coach Tarek El-Ashry has a good record against Ahly.
Ahly will be without the services of lively winger Ahmed Abdel-Qader, defender Rami Rabia, and midfielder Amr El-Soulya, who are all sidelined due to different injuries.
However, they are likely to regain the services of defender Mahmoud Metwali, who has been out of action for around six weeks.
The reverse fixture between the two sides saw a dramatic late winner from Ahly striker Mohamed Sherif, who scored in the 90+6 minute to secure a 2-1 win for his side.
Ahly will be hoping for a similar result on Sunday, but they will need to be at their best to overcome a stubborn Pharco side.
