Osorio, who watched the game from the stands of the Military Academy Stadium, will officially begin his mission with the team on Friday.

The Colombian manager will be hoping to help the team turn around their frustrating season.

The two-time defending champions have struggled this season and currently sit fourth in the table with 39 points, nine points behind league leaders Future FC.

Zamalek took the lead in the 14th minute thanks to a bicycle kick from winter signing Nasser Mansi.

Defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid doubled the lead just before halftime with a nice header.

Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Belhadji completed the rout in injury time with a well-placed shot from inside the area.

Senegalese winger Ibrahim N’Daye was handed his first start for Zamalek since joining the club last summer. However, despite his efforts during the game, he failed to make a real impact.

The second half was a dull affair as Zamalek were content to protect their lead and easily contained Harras El-Hodoud's timid attempts to reduce the gap.

Zamalek will have tough test against Arab Contractors on Monday.
