The Red Devils will host Raja de Casablanca in the first leg of the quarter-finals on Saturday, April 22, and will play the second leg in Casablanca one week later.

Ahead of the crucial African clash, Ahly will be looking to secure a morale-boosting win against Smouha, especially as they are on track to claim their 43rd domestic league title.

Currently, Ahly are in the driving seat of the league table with 50 points, two ahead of second-place Future FC, who have played three games more than Ahly.

Despite their 3-0 over Pharco FC in their recent league, the team struggled with defensive lapses that allowed Pharco players to threaten Ahly’s keeper, Mohamed El-Shennawi, on several occasions.

Such errors could prove costly against an experienced team like Raja.

There is some uncertainty over whether Ahly winger Ahmed Abdel-Qader will be available for the game.

The lively winger has been out of action for around ten days, with some reports suggesting that the team's medical staff is preparing him for the Raja clash.

Meanwhile, Smouha will be hoping for a positive result to improve their position in the league table.

Their 3-1 loss to Itthad Alexandria on Friday saw the team drop to ninth place in the table with 31 points.
