The Egyptian side hope to achieve a comfortable win at home to avoid last season's fate when they were eliminated from the quarters.
Pyramids FC qualified for the secondary continental tournament after finishing second in Group B, while surprise package Marumo Gallants topped Group A.
"It will be a tough game as we followed the games of Marumo Gallants in the domestic league and the African tournament as they perform well in the Confederation Cup as well as leading their group." Pyramids FC's Portuguese tactician Jaime Pacheco told the pre-game press conference.
Marumo Gallants are currently struggling in the South African League, sitting in 12th place with 28 points after playing 27 matches.
Pyramids FC, on the other hand, are third in the Egyptian Premier League teams' table with 46 points, trailing seven points behind leaders Ahly.
"Despite their bad situation in the South African league, Marumo Gallants is expected to be a tough opponent as all the teams who reached the quarterfinals are strong and nominated to reach the semis," Pacheco added.
Pyramids FC will be without key frontline players Fakhreddine Ben Youssef, Fagrie Lakay, and Abdalla El Saied due to injuries. Long-time injured defender Osama Galal will also continue to miss the Egyptian team's games.
"Our target is to reach the final game of the tournament as well as winning the title, so we have to concentrate on the game to achieve our goals," the Pyramids FC coach said.
"We are working step by step with every game despite the absence of key players during the previous games," said the Portuguese coach.
