"Ahly do not tire of winning championship titles and I am this way too" said the 62-year old Swiss tactician, who has various titles with European sides under his belt, in a pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"We are happy to play another Super Cup final and I am giving it my all to win a new title," said the 62-year-old Swiss tactician who has bagged two titles with the team, including a Super Cup for the 2020/2021 season, since taking the helm at the Red Devils less than nine months ago.
Koller acknowledged both the strength of the Pyramids FC team as well as their burning desire to win their first ever title in any championships since appearing on the scene five years ago.
"Their desire to win their first championship in their history gives them additional motivation and increases the difficulty of the match," Koller stressed.
Pyramids FC qualified for the clash on Friday as the runner up to 2021/2022 league holders Zamalek, who declined to play the Super Cup final after citing serious disagreements with decisons made by the Egyptian Football Association.
Koller dismissed any concerns over the last minute change in the competitor, stressing that he knows all about Pyramids FC and has just recently played against them in the 2021/2022 Egypt Cup final.
"I do not want to compare between Zamalek and Pyramids. The two teams are great and each have their own way. I want to focus on my team and find a suitable way of playing to face the enemy."
Koller was quizzed in the press conference on the status of team star Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim, whose eligibility to participate in the Super Cup final was a subject in the Zamalek versus EFA drama.
"Kahraba has been the subject of much talk in the news recently. We are preparing him psychologically and technically for the match. The player provides amazing levels despite all the difficulties that he faces."
