Ahly winger Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdi capitalized on a mistake by Talae El-Gaish's goalkeeper, Mohamed Shaaban, who sent a wayward pass, allowing Magdi to score a brilliant goal from outside the box just a minute after the break.
Magdi received a through pass from midfielder Amr El Sulaya and skillfully put it into the back of the net.
Injury time saw El Sulaya double Ahly's lead from a penalty kick, confirming a convincing victory for the Egyptian League title contenders.
The Cairo giants now have 59 points after playing 23 games so far, four points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC, who have played four more games.
The first half saw no clear score chances, but Ahly dominated possession with a solid defense against hosts, Talae El-Gaish, who played with their players behind the ball, thwarting Ahly's efforts to gain a lead.
Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir sustained a head injury due to a clash with Talae El-Gaish forward Eslam Mohareb, adding to Ahly's injury woes.
Shobeir was included in the starting lineup as Ahly missed the services of their first-choice goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy and second-choice Ali Lotfi due to calf and thigh muscle injuries, respectively.
Brazilian winger Bruno Savio, who last played for Ahly in January due to injury, came on as a substitute five minutes before the final whistle.
El Gaish, on the other hand, remains in the relegation zone, sitting in 17th place out of 18 teams in the table, with only 26 points from 27 games. They have only won five games, drawn 11, and lost another 11.
Ahly, who are preparing for the CAF Champions League final against Morocco's Wydad next week, will face Ceramica Cleopatra in a postponed game from the 27th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.
