Zamalek, who have been struggling lately, will be looking to put on a convincing performance when they take on Ittihad of Alexandria at the Cairo stadium in a league game on Sunday.

The team's coach, Juan Carlos Osorio, is under immense pressure to deliver results after being appointed as the new coach in mid-April, succeeding Portuguese manager Jesualdo Ferreira.

Since his arrival, Osorio has failed to impress, with the team producing shaky performances under his guidance, winning three games, drawing two, and losing one.

Osorio has been heavily criticised for his offensive strategy, which doesn't seem to be suitable for the team's current capacities.

The team has also appeared vulnerable, conceding five goals in six games.

Osorio's decision to change players' positions has also come under fire, as he has yet to find the suitable formula for his side.

In their last appearance against Talae El-Gaish in the previous league game, Zamalek managed to clinch a late 2-0 win, with both goals coming in injury time.

Despite Osorio's contract with the team running until the end of the next season, there are many doubts concerning his fate with the club.

On the other hand, Ittihad of Alexandria will be looking to end their four-game winless streak, having lost three times and drawn once during their previous four games.

These negative results have seen the team fall to seventh place with 40 points, ten points behind Zamalek, who lie in fourth place but have played one match more.

A win against Zamalek would help the Alexandria-based club advance to fifth place and close the gap with Zamalek to seven points.
