Zamalek have extended the contract of Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri by a further year, keeping him at the club until 2025, the club’s technical committee member Ahmed ‘Mido’ Hossam tweeted on Friday.

The 30-year-old international forward’s contract with Zamalek was due to expire in the summer of next season.

The deal was first penned when he joined the club on a permanent basis following his loan spell from Arab Contractors in January 2021.

Jaziri played a key role in helping Zamalek claim back-to-back League titles in 2021 and 2022.

He played 91 games for the White Knights in all competitions since joining the club, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists.

Mido also revealed that Zamalek duo Hamza Mathlouthi and Seif Gaafar are close to extending their contracts, and the club are in advanced talks to sign new players to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

Goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhy and left-back Ahmed Fatouh are both set to pen new deals with Zamalek when the transfer window closes, Mido concluded.

Zamalek are currently in fourth place in the Egyptian Pro league table with 53 points, 11 points behind Pyramids FC, who are temporarily leading the league with two points ahead of second-place Ahly, who have six games in hand.
