Haras El-Hodoud defender Mahmoud Benwali scored an own goal in the fourth minute, giving Ahly an early lead.
Winger Ahmed Abdel-Kader doubled the Red Devils' lead in the 56th minute, capitalizing on a superb through ball from Mohamed "Afsha" Magdi.
Taher Mohammad completed the rout with a powerful strike eight minutes later as Ahly edges closer to regaining the league title, which Zamalek won in the past two editions.
Ahly need 12 points from 27 possible points to secure their 43rd Egyptian League title.
