Nour El-Sayed will miss Zamalek’s CAF Champions League group stage match with DR Congo’s TP Mazembe on Sunday due to injury.

"El-Sayed tried to participate in Tuesday's training session but the pain in his foot prevented him. He will be out of action for two weeks," the Cairo giants said in a statement on their official website early on Tuesday.

Scans showed that the former Gouna player suffers a broken foot.

El-Sayed’s absence will add to the side’s woes as they are already missing the services of veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan due to suspension.

The Whites are in a critical situation in the CAF Champions League after losing their opening three games. They lie at the bottom of the group with no points, four behind Mazembe and Ghana's Berekum Chelsea, and nine adrift of leaders Ahly.

Under the guidance of new Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira, Zamalek must beat TP Mazembe to revive their faint hopes of reaching the competition's semi-final.
