Ahly aim to resume their winning streak and move closer to clinching their 43rd league title as they face Ismaily in a delayed game at Alexandria's Borg Al-Arab stadium on Wednesday.

The Cairo giants were held to a goalless draw by Future FC last Sunday, ending their nine-match winning run in the Egyptian league.

However, they still lead the table with 69 points, two points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC who have played four more games.

Ahly need only eight points from their remaining seven games to secure the title.

Under the guidance of coach Marcel Koller, who has already led the team to several trophies, including two Egypt Super Cup titles, Egypt Cup and the CAF Champions League, Ahly will try to regain their victorious rhythm against an Ismaily side fighting to avoid relegation.

Koller expressed his disappointment with his team's offensive performance against Future, as they failed to score despite creating many chances.

Meanwhile, Ismaily, who are 13th in the league table with 34 points, just two points above the drop zone, will fiercely resist Ahly's pressure to keep their place among the elite.

A defeat against the title contenders would put them in a critical situation, with only two games remaining.

In the reverse fixture, Ahly beat Ismaily 1-0 thanks to a goal from out-of-favor striker Shadi Hussein.
