Ahly striker Emad Meteb could be out of the club's CAF Champions League game against Ghana's Berekum Chelsea on Sunday due toan injury, the Cairo giants announced late Tuesday.
"Meteb suffered a hamstring injury and was not able to continue tonight's training session," Ahly's doctor Ehab Aly revealed in a statement on the club's official website.
"The player will undergo scans on Wednesday to determine if he will be available for the Chelsea match or not," Aly added.
The absence of the 29-year old forward would be a blow for the Red Devils, who are scheduled to fly to Ghana on Thursday, particularly as they are already missing the services of injured Brazilian striker Fabio Junio.
The six-time African Champions Ahly are top of group B with three straight victories. The club hopes to maintain the winning streak in the African Champions League group stage and beat Chelsea in Ghana next week.
