Former Zamalek midfielder Emam Ashour
"Ashour is a talented player, and I hope he will be a valuable addition to the squad, as I am familiar with his outstanding performance," Komsan told a television program late Thursday.
"I was involved in his signing for Haras El-Hodoud when the team was promoted to the first division league," Komsan added.
"I would like to inform him that I hope he will be a great asset for Ahly and compete with his teammates to please Ahly fans."
Although Ahly management has not officially announced the signing of the 25-year-old Egyptian international from Midtjylland, media reports indicate that the Red Devils have reached an agreement with the player to join the team this summer.
Ashour, currently in rehabilitation after sustaining a season-ending injury in April during a cup match against Viborg, has been linked with a move back to Egypt, with Pyramids FC and Ahly showing interest in signing the former Zamalek star.
He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Danish Midtjylland on the winter transfer market deadline day after leaving Cairo giants Zamalek.
He played 102 games with Zamalek, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists. He won the Egyptian Premier League twice and the Egypt Cup title with the Cairo giants.
Since joining FC Midtjylland, Ashour has played seven games and scored two goals with the Danish side.
He was a member of Egypt's U23 squad that won the African Cup of Nations in 2020. In November 2021, Ashour made his debut with the Pharaohs, playing 11 games so far.
