Ahly vs. Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League. Al-Ahram
The Red Devils are riding high after securing the League title and a victory against arch-rivals Zamalek 4-1 two days ago.
However, their primary objective remains to finish the long league games with no losses.
With 78 points, Ahly is leading the teams’ table, eight points ahead of Pyramids FC, who played three more games.
The Cairo giants played 30 games out of 34 this season, winning 24 and drawing six, but they have not lost a single league game since the start of the season in October 2022.
“My team and I simply wanted to be successful here. And it turned out to be a fantastic season in which we won almost everything,” Ahly coach Marcel Koller stated in an interview with Swiss website SRF published on Saturday.
“The league is not as simple as one might think. Defense is a priority for all teams. And when they play against us, the opponents primarily try to keep the zero. That doesn't make the task easy for us.” The Swiss coach added.
Koller is expected to rotate his team to give some rest to his players. Defenders Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Mohamed Hany and Yasser Ibrahim are serving automatic bans after accumulating cards while Hussein El-Shahat and Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim maybe benched after playing crucial roles against Zamalek two days ago.
On the other hand, Arab Contractors are sixth in the table with 44 points after playing 33 games with one game remaining to the end.
Ahly defeated Arab Contractors 2-1 in the home game back in March.
