The 60-year old coach took charge of the club in September 2022 and led them through 35 matches this season, with the team finishing 8th in the league on 43 points.

According to a club statement, Manojlovic told the club's president Mohamed Mosselhi that he wants to leave and return home despite having one year remaining on his contract.

Manojlovic had a strong start of the season but as the second half of the season began, the results deteriorated to the point where they failed to win any of their last 10 matches.

The coach praised the support of the club's board and staff during his time at Ittihad but insisted on resigning from his position.

The club said they accepted his resignation and thanked him for his efforts during his time as head coach.

Manojlovic's contract with Ittihad ended at the end of the current season after playing their last match against Ismaily.

In April, Ittihad announced the renewal of Manojlovic's contract for another season before the coach announced his desire to leave.
