They were held to a 1-1 draw by relegated side Harras El-Hodoud before suffering a heavy 3-0 loss to second-placed Pyramids FC on Sunday.

The defeat against Pyramids FC was Ahly's first in the campaign this season, during which the club regained the league title after a two-year absence.

The loss prompted the anger of the team's coach, Marcel Koller, who expressed his displeasure over his side's performance during the game.

The Swiss coach blamed the extreme fatigue that hit his players for the heavy loss, requesting football officials in the country to understand that players need to rest.

As a result, it is likely that Koller will play a second-string team on Wednesday to avoid further fatigue to his players.

On the other hand, Masry will be looking to bounce back from their frustrating 4-1 loss against Ceramica Cleopatra in the League Cup final.

A win against Ahly would be the best consolation for the fans of the Port-Saed based side. Ahly is currently at the top of the league table with 82 points, while Masry lies fifth with 47 points.

The reverse game saw Masry snatch a goalless draw against the Cairo giants.
