"We are looking forward to competing for the Arab Cup title," Osorio stated during a pre-game press conference on Thursday.

Zamalek, the Cairo giants, will commence their mission in the King Salman's Clubs Cup on Friday, where they will face US Monastir.

“Our opponents are a big team that has built a brilliant squad this summer and signed a new coach, while Zamalek have witnessed a development in players' performance during previous games,” he added.

The Colombian tactician emphasized that Zamalek players have a big responsibility as they will be representing Egypt and they have to meet the fans' expectations during the tournament.

Zamalek has been drawn into Group C alongside Tunisian side US Monastir, Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab, and Al-Nassr.

"We will not change our playing style when we face Saudi's Al-Nassr as every game has its tactics and circumstances, and we are ready for the tournament," Osorio said.

Zamalek is Egypt's only representative in the tournament after Ahly withdrew and Talae El-Gaish was knocked out in the playoff round by Ittihad of Libya.

The tournament winner will receive $6 million.

Zamalek will kick off their group stage campaign by facing US Monastir on Friday, followed by Al-Shabab three days later, and finally, they will face Al-Nassr on 3 August.
