Striker Seifeddine Jaziri opened the scoring for Zamalek with a brilliant strike from a wide cross delivered by a corner kick.

Winger Ahmed "Zizo" El Sayed then doubled the score just before the end of the first half, following a sharp assist from veteran playmaker Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdelrazik.

In the second half, midfielder Sayed Abdallah added two more goals to Zamalek's tally.

He scored the third goal by delivering a low cross from Jaziri inside the area, and then scored the fourth goal after receiving a low cross from the left wing by Ahmed Fattouh.

Zamalek maintained their dominance throughout the game, with defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid missing a clear scoring opportunity ten minutes before the final whistle when the bar suspended his header.

Zamalek is the only Egyptian club in the tournament after Ahly withdrew and Talae El-Gaish was eliminated in the playoff round by Ittihad of Libya.

The Cairo giants have a rich history in the Arab Cup, having participated in seven previous editions of the tournament.

Zamalek is in Group C with Tunisian side US Monastir, Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab, and Al-Nasr, whom they will face on Monday and Thursday, respectively.
