The announcement was made on Sunday via Pyramids FC's official social media accounts, though specific details about the length of Mayele's contract and the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The 29-year-old Congolese forward arrived in Egypt on Saturday and successfully completed his medical examinations before the transfer was made official. According to local reports, Mayele is believed to have penned a three-year contract with the club.
Mayele's career trajectory took a remarkable turn when he joined Young Africans in 2021. His impressive performances on the field saw him shine, particularly with his goal-scoring abilities.
During the previous season, he netted an impressive total of 14 goals in African competitions, with 7 goals in the CAF Champions League and an additional 7 goals in the Confederation Cup.
His remarkable goal tally played a key role in Young Africans' journey to the Confederation Cup final—a historic achievement for the Tanzanian side on the continental stage. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on claiming the title, losing to USM of Algiers through the away goal rule.
As Pyramids FC gears up for their maiden appearance in the Champions League, the signing of Fiston Mayele is seen as a move to strengthen their forward line, especially in the wake of Tunisian striker Fakhreddine Ben Youssef's departure from the club.
Mayele will face tough competition within the team's attacking ranks, vying for the striker position against South African forward Fagrie Lakay and Dodo Elgabas.
