The partnership renewal comes after the six previous editions of the Egyptian Super Cup were held in Abu Dhabi.
"The Egyptian Super Cup for Champions is among the priorities and interests of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council [built on] the strong partnership between the council, the sponsor company [Presentation], and the Egyptian Football Association," Hamed Al-Awni, secretary-general of the ADSC, said.
The tournament has helped Abu Dhabi become a global capital for such events, Al-Awni said, adding that the successes of past editions have affirmed their desire to expand the system to four teams instead of the current two.
The new system will be as follows:
-Egyptian League Champions
-Egypt Cup Winners
-Egyptian League Cup Winners
-Egyptian League Runners-up
If the league champions also win the Egypt Cup, the Egypt Cup runners-up will participate.
If the Egypt Cup winners also win the League Cup, the Egypt Cup runners-up will participate.
In the event of duplicate teams in the aforementioned tournaments, the Egyptian League standings will be used and participation will be according to priority in the standings.
Under the new system, Ahly and Pyramids FC have secured participation in the new edition of the Egyptian Super Cup as league champions and runners-up.
Ceramica Cleopatra has also secured participation in the tournament as the Egyptian League Cup champions.
Only one spot remains, to be determined after the Egypt Cup.
If any of the aforementioned teams are also champion and runner-up, Zamalek will participate as they finished third in the league.
