New Zamalek coach Jorvan Vieira has announced late Friday his team's final squad for the game against DR Congo's Mazembe in the CAF champions League on Sunday.

Defender Mohamed Abdel-Shafy was not included in the Cairo giants squad amid rumors that his absence in the club's last game with Mazembe is the main reason.

Midfield duo Nour El-Sayed and Ahmed Hassan were also absent due to injury and suspension respectively and out-of-favour Ahmed El-Merghany was included to recover.

The Whites are in a critical situation in the CAF Champions League after losing their opening three games. They lie at the bottom of the group with no points, four behind Mazembe and Ghana's Berekum Chelsea, and nine adrift of leaders Ahly.

Under the guidance of new Brazilian tactician Vieira, Zamalek must beat TP Mazembe to revive their faint hopes of reaching the competition's semi-final.
