Ahly have announced that Algerian midfielder Ahmed Kendouci will join Egyptian side Ceramica Cleopatra on a one-season loan deal.

Kendouci, who joined Ahly in January on a four-and-a-half-year contract from Algerian side ES Sétif, failed to secure a regular starting role under coach Marcel Koller.

During the previous season, the 24-year-old made 11 starts in 21 appearances for Ahly.

However, his limited playing time and the team's reported pursuit of a foreign striker made Kendouci's departure a necessary move to make room for the coming striker.

Ahly currently boasts four foreign players, including Tunisian fullback Ali Maaloul, Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, South African winger Percy Tau, and their recent signing, Moroccan winger Reda Slim.

The Egyptian Pro League regulations stipulate that each club is allowed to register only five foreign players in their squad.

Following a successful season in which Ahly clinched five different titles, the club aims to maintain their winning momentum in the upcoming season.
