The team's training sessions will take place from 28 August to 6 September, following which they will return to Cairo to prepare for their highly anticipated match against Algeria's USM Alger in the 2023 African Super Cup.
Having emerged as victors in the CAF Champions League, Ahly will embark on their new season by squaring off against the CAF Confederation Cup winners, USM Alger, in the 2023 African Super Cup on 15 September in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
With a remarkable record of eight Super Cup triumphs, Ahly stands as the most successful team in this single-leg tie.
Their 11th Champions League title secured in the previous season further solidifies their status as a force to be reckoned with.
The Red Devils wrapped up an incredibly successful campaign, securing a total of five titles at both local and continental levels.
Ahly have announced the departures of backup goalkeeper Ali Lotfi, out-of-favour striker Shady Hussein, striker Mohamed Sherif, and Algerian midfielder Ahmed Kendouci, who joined on a one-season loan deal as coach Marcel Koller continues to reshuffle his squad.
Meanwhile, Ahly’s boosted their squad by signing Moroccan winger Reda Slim from FAR Rabat and international midfielder Emam Ashour.
Ahly aims to carry their winning momentum into the 2023/24 season of the Egyptian Premier League, slated to commence in the third week of September.
