Ahly are set to start their (AFL) campaign against Tanzania's Simba, with the victor advancing to face the winner of the game between South Africa's Sundowns and Petro Atletico of Angola.
"We respect all our opponents, and we know well how football is developed in Africa. "
"We look at all teams the same way, and our target is to win every game no matter who our opponents are".
The (AFL) introduced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in collaboration with FIFA, features eight teams from across the continent.
Participating clubs include Egypt's Ahly, Tunisia's Esperance, Nigeria's Enyimba, South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, Angola's Petro Atletico, Tanzania's Simba, DR Congo's TP Mazembe, and Morocco's Wydad.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on 20 October and conclude on 11 November.
