The move was made to accommodate the schedule of Ahly, which plays Simba SC of Tanzania on 20 October in the African Football League.
The EFA's executive director, Walid El-Attar, said that the dates of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for club competitions are overlapping with the FIFA dates for national teams.
"Our match against Algeria will be held on 16 October instead of 17 October to ensure that Ahly players are with the Egypt national team and to avoid repeating the crisis of the past camp," El-Attar told a radio programme on Monday.
Egypt coach Rui Vitoria has expressed his discontent about having to drop Ahly players from Tunisia game as they had to play with the Red Devils in the African Super Cup three days later.
The October international break is the penultimate one this year and will run from 9 to 17 October.
