Zamalek, Modern Future FC placed in separate groups for CAF Confederation Cup

Egyptian teams Zamalek and Modern Future FC, have been assigned to different groups in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw for the group stage of this secondary continental tournament was held on Friday in Johannesburg.

Zamalek find themselves in Group B, alongside Abo Selim from Libya, Guinea's SOAR, and Angola's Sagrada Esperanca.

On the other hand, Modern Future FC have been placed in Group A, alongside Algeria's USM Alger, Libya's Al Hilal Benghazi, and South African team SuperSport United.

According to a statement by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the group stage matches are scheduled to begin between 24 and 26 November, with the final round set to conclude between 1 and 3 March.

The first leg of the Confederation Cup final is slated to take place on 11 and 12 May, while the second leg is scheduled for 17 and 19 May.

Both Zamalek and Modern Future FC earned their spots in the group stage after defeating opponents in the preliminary rounds.

Zamalek prevailed over Arta Solar from Djibouti with an aggregate score of 4-3, while Modern Future FC emerged victorious against Tanzania's Singida Big Stars with a 4-2 aggregate score.
