Egypt's Ahly are giving a trial to Nigerian striker Onuoha Ogbonna who plays for Tunisian club US Monastir.
"Ogbonna will be handed a trial with the first team. He will be assessed by coach Hossam El-Badry who will take the final decision," Ahly said Wednesday in a statement on their official website.
The 24-year-old forward joined US Monastir last summer from Tunisia's El-Gawafel Sportives de Gafsa.
Ahly's frontline is in a crisis as veteran striker Emad Meteb could be sidelined for months if scans reveal he needs surgery on his hamstring.
The Red Devils recently sealed their spot in the CAF Champions League semi-final as they are top of Group B with ten points.
The Cairo heavyweights are currently preparing for their upcoming match with DR Congo's TP Mazembe on 2 September. The club will play a friendly with El-Entag El-Harby on 27 August.
