Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry is racing against time to get his team's injured players fit enough to take part in the upcoming clash against DR Congo's TP Mazembe on the 5th match-day of the CAF Champions League Group stage early next month.

The Cairo giants will have to do without left winger Sayed Mowad and midfielder Mohamed Barakat, both of whom received second yellow cards in last week's 1-1 draw with Ghanaian Chelsea.

El-Badry is eager to field injured defender Sherif Abdel-Fadil, currently suffering from a calf injury, and midfielder Walid Soliman, also suffering a leg injury, as the two players would be perfect replacements for Mowad and Barakat.

Ahly are also set to face Egypt's El-Entag El-Harby in a friendly match on Monday within the context of ongoing preparations for the crucial Champions League clash with Mazembe.

Six-time African champions, Ahly are currently leading group B with ten points, three ahead of TP Mazembe, while Ghanaian side Chelsea has placed third in the group with five points.

Ahly needs only one point from the next two matches to qualify for the semi-finals.
