Own-goal lifts Pyramids FC to the top of the Egyptian League

Pyramids FC secured a 1-0 victory over Modern Future at Cairo stadium on Sunday, thanks to a Mohamed Abdel-Salam own goal. In the 57th minute of the game.

The Modern Future FC defender inadvertently scored on his own net while attempting to clear Mostafa Fathi's cross.

With the win, Pyramids FC now sit at the summit of the league table with ten points, holding a one-point advantage over second-placed Modern Future FC, who suffered their first defeat of the season after three consecutive victories.

The match was largely controlled by Pyramids FC in the first half, although they were unable to convert their chances into goals.

However, in the second half, the high-spending club dominated proceedings and managed to find the winning goal just 12 minutes after the break.

Although Modern Future FC generated a few half-chances in the closing minutes, they failed to pose a significant threat as Pyramids FC maintained their dominance.

In another match on the same day, Ismaily suffered a last-minute 1-0 defeat to Pharco FC in Alexandria.

Tunisian midfielder Rezki Hamroune scored the winner in stoppage time, securing three valuable points for his team.

Pharco FC currently sit 13th in the league table with four points, just one position ahead of Ismaily.
