After a strong comeback against NBE Club, which resulted in a late winner from veteran forward Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razek, Zamalek secured their second consecutive league victory with an impressive 5-1 win over Smouha on Saturday.

They made ammends for their poor start of the season as they were held to a 2-2 draw by last season's runners-up Pyramids and 1-1 by Arab Contractors.

Their back-to-back wins lifted them to fourth place accumulating eight points and sitting two points behind current leaders Pyramids FC.

The White Knights received a double boost ahead of the match, with goalkeeper Mohamed Awaad returning from suspension after missing the game against Smouha, and defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid available again after being sidelined due to technical reasons.

The Cairo giants have been plagued by transfer bans and a managerial crisis this season, but they seem to be getting back on track with the recent appointment of a new board led by Hussein Labib.

On the other hand, Enppi, who are currently in the 11th place in the league standings with 4 points, are aiming to build up on their 3-1 victory over NBE Club on Saturday, following a defeat to Pyramids FC, a draw with Talae El-Gaish, and an opening league defeat to Dakhleya.
