Injury to sideline Ahly s Moroccan winger Slim for 3 months
Slim's unfortunate injury occurred a mere five minutes after he came on during the semifinal of the African Football League (AFL).
Ahly's doctor said on TV that Slim would need to undergo surgery to repair his broken shoulder.
According to reports in the Egyptian media, Slim is anticipated to be out of action for three months, ruling him out of the Red Devils' FIFA Club World Cup campaign set to take place in Saudi Arabia from 12 to 22 December.
The 23-year-old winger recently signed a four-year contract with Ahly, extending his stay with the Cairo giants until the summer of 2027.
Slim's journey to prominence began in Raja de Casablanca's youth teams before he joined FAR Rabat in 2017, where he played an instrumental role in the team's victorious campaign last season.
Making his debut for Ahly in the 1-0 loss to USM Algiers during the 2023 African Super Cup, Slim showcased an impressive performance despite facing a resolute Algerian defense.
Since joining the team last summer, he has made three appearances for Ahly this season, scoring one goal.
