Zamalek announced on Sunday that they have parted ways with coach Juan Carlos Osorio due to the team's poor results.

The decision comes after the White Knights suffered a 2-1 defeat to newly promoted side ZED FC in a league game on Friday, marking their second consecutive league loss following a similar result against Enppi the previous week.

Former Egypt U23 assistant coach Moatamed Gamal has been named as the interim coach until a new coach is appointed.

Zamalek has had a disappointing start to the season, grabbing only ten points out of a possible 18, placing them ninth in the league table after six weeks.

They have won two games, lost two, and drawn in another two.

Osorio, who took charge of the team in April, faced heavy criticism as he failed to make a significant impact.

Under his guidance, Zamalek played 22 games, winning 12, losing five, and drawing five.

Last season, Zamalek finished in third place and were eliminated from the King Salman group stages in August.

They secured their place in the Confederation Cup group stages with a hard-fought 4-3 aggregate win over minnows Arta Solar of Djibouti.

Zamalek are set for a tough clash on Wednesday as they face Pyramids FC in the 2022 Egypt Cup semifinals.

Meanwhile, the club has decided to suspend international fullback Ahmed Fatouh, defender Mostapha El-Zenari, and goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, placing them on the transfer list.

This action was taken after the players left the team's camp the day before the game against ZED FC.

Fatouh, one of the team's key players, has shown reluctance to renew his contract with the team, which expires this summer.

Several reports have linked him to Ahly and Pyramids FC.
